PNWR Report

With a great turnout of 1A players PNWR was always going to be amazing! The level of all other divisions was more like a typical regional but the cream of USA and Canadas 1A players turned up to the most competitive event since USA Nationals. Plenty of seeds and 15 qualifiers left 28 1a finalists to duke it out.

Early stand-outs included 11yr old Hunter Feurerstein in his first big final, a slick Joey Montoya and the technical brilliance of Ethan Cheung. When it came down to the pointy end and the seeds stepped up Tylor McCallumore was on fire and easily top 3 so far until the top seeds continually lifted the bar. In the end The results were probably not what the crowd expected but a deserving winner Evan Nagao took the victory! Its unclear if he will take the regional seed, Hawaii was formerly included in this region but current maps exclude its existence, so we will see if this puts him in Nationals finals.  Evan was throwing a prototype of a new yoyo he has been developing with YoYoFactory over the winter. Due for release late Spring its exciting to see Evan take a major contest with its first use in public.
