Yohans dwarfed by the big yoyo!
July 6, Escanaba Michigan USA
Under tight safety measures, Bay College CAD team of Ryan Fairbanks (team leader), Jacob Nietling, Mark Cocco, Matt Yadro, Jessica Potvin, Viki Branstrom and Adam Hoffman used metal metal and wood to create an 11ft 6′ (or just over 3 and a half meters) tall, 1600lb ( 725 KG) heavy yo-yo which they dropped from a height of just over 90ft (approximately 28m) to break the Guinness World Record for the Worlds Biggest Yo-Yo!

ready - set- go!
Hearing of the plan to attempt the record YoYoFactory (Chandler USA) donated both money and Yo-Yos for fundraising to help the school generate the almost $12,000 needed to build and launch the yo-yo making this also one of the most expensive yo-yos ever created.

The Yo-Yo was released by Hans Van Dan Elzen of YoYofactory who was trained to ‘run very fast’ should anything go wrong, a skill that luckily was not needed as the yo-yo travelled up and down the string just like its ‘real’ sized cousins do for yo-yo players all around the world.
