I consider the upper crust of yo-yoing to be players who have built up styles so personal to them that they can be instantly recognized from the way they play. In a span of less than 3 years, Francesco has achieved exactly that, and with his unique style of play he has built a strong reputation as a top player achieving national titles in both of his home countries; the United Kingdom and Italy.
As we both share a love of technical 1A, it only seemed natural to ask Francesco to be my protégé. Francesco accepting the offer is a great honour for me and I look forward to collaborating with, and of course competing against him as his yoyoing develops further in the coming years. No doubt he will be part of Europe’s next generation of top players and a huge asset to both YYF and the UK scene.

Last week YoYoFactory took a trip to the New York Toy Fair to show off the 2012 line.

We are ready: products, banners, displays and Gacek hanging out in the corner. Also, check out the cool new YoYoFactory carpet. Bet that would look pretty cool in your front hall!

Ann Connolly also came to help us out at the booth. The international traveler was hard at work demoing product and talking to people about modern yo-yoing.

Also to help out were massive amounts of coffee. Long days, and lots of work go into showing at Toy Fair.

Along with buyers and retailers, we had friends stop by the booth to hang out and throw. Thanks for coming out guys. A great start to a great year here at YoYoFactory!

Slusny produced this amazing black light video showcasing the YoYoFactory Neon Collection. Featuring great tricks from Vashek, Augie and the rest of the Slusny crew. They really show off the great colors, string and tools of the Neon Collection.

Marcin Drzewiecki may be a new face on the YoYoFactory Contest Team, but he’s working on changing that. After a stellar 4th place performance at the European YoYo Championships, Marcin got promoted from Protege Team to Contest Team. And now we present his first video since going Pro!

Even though it was -10C, Vashek would rather go out filming than working on his final paper for university. And we are glad to took a break. Another great video from a great player!

Engadget did a great piece on YoYoFactory at the New York Toy Fair this week. Ben McPhee shows off the Hyper Scanner gets close to 7,000 RPM. Looks like another office RPM contest is in order once they get back from Toy Fair.

The 2012 contest season starts with a bang! Yoyofactory traveled all the way to Prague for the European YoYo Championships. The video we brought back features some of Yoyofactory’s top European players with quite a few special guests from the U.S., all showcasing their undeniable skills.

Today we went to oversee production of the next run of our very popular Popstar. This undersized sized player packs a lot of performance. First it starts are long bars of Aluminum. Then it’s machined to incredibly high tolerance. Once it’s done all thats left is a pile of shavings, and an amazing yo-yo.

YoYoFactory’s very popular DV888 is about to get a restock in some awesome new Splash colorways! Expect these to hit stores in the coming weeks.
