This week at YoYoFactory we’re doing a big photo shoot for an upcoming project. As part of it, we flew Ann Connolly down here. Arriving a day early, we decided to take Ann out for a day of fun.

When we asked Ann what she wanted to in Phoenix the first thing was “Go to In-n-Out”!

After burgers, on to a baseball game. Our team lost, but we had a blast!

After the game the crew headed back to Ben’s house. Pat and Ann ended up getting a little practice in for this summers tour.

For dinner, the BEST pizza in Phoenix. Ann agrees.

To wrap up the day, more sports! Basketball games are a staple spot to take our out of town guests.

Make sure to follow our Facebook for more fun over the week.

If you were on a computer last weekend, you probably heard about the Tony Hawk Twitter Hunt. This the 3rd year Tony Hawk as put on this event, and YoYoFactory got to be apart of it. Here’s how it works: Weeks before prizes are received and organized into boxes to be sent out to 90 locations WORLD WIDE. Then early Sunday morning Tony Hawk started tweeting clues to different locations with the #THTH hash tag. The first person to figure out the clue and show up at the location got a huge box filled with rad prizes, like YoYoFactory yo-yos. The outcome is mayhem! #THTH trended all over the world and in the end, all the prizes were found.

To confirm you found the THTH box, you took a picture of the box/location. We put together all the photos we could find of the winners into a collage. Throughout the day people also tweeted cool things they won in the box, like YoYoFactory yo-yos. Here are some of them:

We are also super excited for our buddy Ed Haponik for finding the Charlotte NC box! Great to see a yo-yo player win an amazing prize pack.

Thanks to Tony Hawk and everyone at Birdhouse Skateboards for letting us be apart of this great event!

YoYoFactory is honored to work with a great partner in Bandai Japan. On the 1st weekend of April we tagged along to their Hyper YoYo Event in Tokyo. Winners of regional contests all met off to battle in a FACE OFF contest where teams draw cards from a deck which name tricks. The players then choose which difficulty they will attempt, the harder for more points. After 3 draws/tricks there is a winner.

The final battle saw two local teams match up, although there were some close battles including a tied semi final with the team from Hokaido along the way. The final was tense with the excited winners taking home a huge case of special edition Hyper YoYos.

As well as the competitors the Top Spinner Pros were on hand to perform and many Japanese YoYo Champions came along to watch including World Champions Shaqler,  Shinya Kido, Hironori Mii and Jun Aramaki from REWIND, Taka from SpinGear, Eiji Okuyama and Reiki from YoYoFactory, the whole 44Clash crew plus a visitor from America, Bob Maloney from Bird in Hand Chico, the home of the USA National YoYo Contest.
